NASA astronomer Fred Espenak and Canadian meteorologist Jay Anderson publish special NASA bulletins for each major eclipse of the Sun. Produced through NASA's Reference Publication (RP) series, the eclipse bulletins are prepared in cooperation with the Working Group on Eclipses of the International Astronomical Union and are provided as a public service to both the professional and lay communities, including educators and the media. Each eclipse bulletin is a complete reference for a specific eclipse and contains detailed predictions, tables, maps, and weather prospects.

To date, the following eclipse bulletins have been published:

         Annular Solar Eclipse of 1994 May 10     (NASA RP 1301)         Total Solar Eclipse of 1994 November 03  (NASA RP 1318)         Total Solar Eclipse of 1995 October 24   (NASA RP 1344)         Total Solar Eclipse of 1997 March 09     (NASA RP 1369)         Total Solar Eclipse of 1998 February 26  (NASA RP 1383)         Total Solar Eclipse of 1999 August 11    (NASA RP 1398)

Future bulletins currently planned include the eclipses of 2001 June 21; 2002 December 4; 2003 May 31; 2003 November 23; and 2006 March 29.

Single copies of the bulletins are available at no cost by sending a 9-by-12-inch self-addressed envelope stamped with sufficient postage for 11 ounces (310 grams) and with the eclipse date printed in the lower left corner. Please send stamps only. Cash or checks cannot be accepted. Requesters from outside the United States and Canada should send nine international postal coupons.
